Challenges in Plastic Manufacturing: Warping and Assembly Inspection
In plastic manufacturing, two main issues often arise: warped plastic products and difficulties in
inspecting internal features and contact surfaces between components in assembled models.
Warping occurs during production due to the flexible and easily deformable nature of plastic materials.
This makes the inspection of plastic samples particularly challenging, especially when the product's
state is unstable.
During the assembly process, defects such as uneven gaps, misalignment, or substandard contact
surfaces often occur. These issues are typically in hard-to-reach areas or invisible to the naked eye,
making them even more challenging to address.
ZEISS Solutions to Address These Challenges
To tackle these issues, ZEISS has focused extensively on researching and developing two key
measurement solutions:
Accurate Inspection of Plastic Products, Even When Warped
This solution ensures precise measurements despite the inherent deformation of plastic samples.
Quality Control in Assembled States
Features include gap inspection, misalignment detection, and contact surface analysis, enabling
thorough examination of assembly quality.
These solutions are designed to overcome the challenges posed by the unique characteristics of plastic
materials and the complexities of assembly inspections.
